Good news!! I am happy:))

What a fun week!!!

I had an awesome week full of naps and hot days (you can literally fry an egg on the pavement I swear) and rejection and happiness.

For the sake of time, I'll give a golden nugget for each day. Sound good? Okay cool.

Tuesday: garden service!! I have developed a deep love for shelling peas. And a nice lady made chinese dessert cake thingys for us!!

Wednesday: we made friends with a bird. And ate prickly pear!! ⚠️Notice: do not bite prickly pear seeds they are harder than the earth's solid core.

Thursday: MLC!! We drove through the spooky misty fog that comes out every morning.

Friday: sisters conference!! We talked about taking care of ourselves and being nice to ourselves. We are children of God!! ALSO, we found a trail of bloody footprints winding through our apt complex... and it was real. Not fake halloweeny stuff. Spooky

Saturday: we went to a farmers market and met some cool people, got some cute earrings, and found out that there's a company in houston that sells PECAN PIE BROWNIES. I thought I heard angels sing.

Sunday: we were so tired and hot so we took a quick car nap:) and we had some awesome member lessons!! I'm really grateful for members here who help us share the gospel. It's the best.

Today: I won my pickle ball game💪💪

Wow I'm grateful to be growing and learning!! God is so patient and kind, I feel it every day.

High five!

Hey gang!!

This week was 5 years long. But not in a horrible way! Just in a "wow we are grinding out here" type way.

This week we did some super cool chalk art on a nearby walking path. We were hoping to uplift people's day, get them thinking about the questions of the soul, and lead them to the church website. It was an awesome idea and turned out really cool! The only downside is that we did it at night, and the path is next to a giant retention pond that has standing water at the bottom... you know what that means? GIANT MUTANT MOSQUITOES. When I say giant I mean giant. And because it was nighttime they were swarming in abundance. I could FEEL them dancing and biting all over my skin. It was awful and we were literally screaming as we drew, but we had already started our art and we had to finish. So we muscled through the unnerving feeling of being eaten alive. By the way, I was wearing pants instead of a skirt, so you'd think it wouldn't have been that bad. We got home and I was itching my legs frantically. I changed into a dress to let my skin breathe and found 2 swollen stumps where my legs used to be. My knees were bitten so bad that they swelled up like troll skin. Disgusting. Sorry for the graphic. I used some benadryl and when the swelling went down I counted my bites. Right leg: 57. Left leg: 78. I wanted to die. So yeah, I've looked like I have chicken pox on my legs for the last week. (If you don't want to see a picture, don't scroll to the end😬)

We remade our pizza rolls and it was a success!!

Lots of knocking doors this week. The stories and memories we've accumulated are countless.

Transfers were today and we're both staying so we're pumped!!! Sad to see some people leave the district though😪

Believe in Jesus, pray always, use bug spray;))

Pizza Blobs

If you saw my fb post about pizza blobs then congratulations you get to see the same pictures!!

I had an amazing week!!

Highlights:

Pizza blobs. I tried to make my trainer's famous pizza rolls and I kinda failed. But I sure had fun doing it!!! Sister Nilson and I laughed our faces off as we handled the smushy dough and saw our cooking hopes and dreams turn into blobs.

Exchanges! I went out to Sealy on exchanges and dusted off my español. I loved being with the hermanas and counseling with them and learning from them! And my mind us still blown that Hermana Sieverts (my hefy friend) and I are in the same zone.

Kahoot!! If you didn't know this about me, I am the kahoot queen. It is one of my talents. I DOMINATE at kahoot. And we had a missionwide kahoot with 1 representative from every zone. And guess who was the representative? Sister Nilson and I. And guess who won?? We did!! It was so fun and brought me back to my school days.

Knocking doors. Sister Nilson and I knocked quite a few doors in a nearby apartment complex. And we had so much fun! Our feet hurt by the end but we were happy because we talked to so many people.

Overall joy:) I am so happy. I love feeling myself grow and serving the Lord. I really know this is His work. And I feel like I can show Him how much I love Him as I serve those around me. Even when its 5 gazillion degrees still.

Facebook post:
Do you ever try your best at something and it just fails?? Yeah, that's me with cooking. The other day, what was supposed to be pizza rolls became pizza blobs HAHA!
Sometimes in life outside the kitchen our best efforts can turn out looking like pizza blobs. We try to do good, to be more kind, to make things work out, to be more like Jesus Christ, and still! Pizza blobs. Thinking of that reminded me of this gospel truth:
"The Lord loves effort, and effort brings rewards. We keep practicing. We are always progressing as long as we are striving to follow the Lord. He doesn’t expect perfection today." -Joy D Jones
Jesus Christ loves when we try!! When we try to do good, to be a little more like Him. So keep trying in all your righteous endeavors:)

Who Had The Best Week Ever??

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️me! It was me!!

Why was it so awesome? Well let me tell you.

First of all, as you may have heard, general conference was this week!!! It's like second Christmas!! Two days packed full of goodness. What did you like the most? I think my favorite part about conference was how it made me feel: peaceful, happy, hopeful, inspired to improve, motivated to give more, a super strong desire to be in the temple. All these amazing feelings that recharged my spirit.

Second of all, and best of all, I got to go to the temple🤪🥳😆😁 it was the crowning moment of my week, of the transfer. We all caravaned up to the temple (which is out of our mission by about 30 minutes) to the temple as a zone. All 23 of us missionaries got to be in the temple together. We met a lady outside who, after brief conversation asked us if we would do some of her family names! And so a lot of our zone got to help this lady and her ancestors by doing their work:)) special! Sister Nilson and I walked around the temple for a minute and found a cute bench to sit on. Then I saw this man with a wheelbarrow full of branches. He walked in front of us and we asked him how he was doing. He smiled shyly and said "muy bien" and my heart exploded for joy!! I whipped out my dusty spanish and spoke to him briefly about what he was doing and how beautiful the temple is. A simple miracle, but one so beautiful to me😊

Ironically, I loved being in the temple but it made me feel more homesick than ever. I felt so strongly that I wished my family was with me. But how beautiful is that? It's a bittersweet feeling but I'm grateful that the temple stirs those feelings in us; those feelings that we want our families together.

Well I hope you all feel loved and hopeful. If not, go listen to conference;)

Love
