Hola/Howdy

Hola from Texas! That's right y'all I'm in Texas. So much has happened this week it's insane so I'll just give a couple highlights.
I'm in a small town called Rosenburg and I live in a barn.. literally. It's awesome.
My companion is Hermana Tea and she's the bomb! My favorite quote from her so far is "my favorite childhood toy was a shovel."
I get to speak spanish and it's the best thing ever!! Except everyone speaks so fast and so quiet I have to use all my brain power to understand them Haha. We serve in a little branch and share it with some elders. They are super fun and they love avatar the last airbender so we get along just fine.
Texas is so pretty and green! It feels like June weather here and it's so humid that my hair has turned into a curly frizzy mess. Absolutely love it!
The day I got here us newbies got to go to the Astros ballpark because my mission President is seriously the coolest person ever. GUYS i got to go in the diamond club members lounge, ON THE FIELD, and IN THE DUGOUT!!! I almost cried it was so cool. I don't have pictures right now of that but I'll get them soon.
The members we live with cooked us some steak the other night and they were massive.
Missionary work is awesome! I love already seeing people's progress and desire to learn.
One of my favorite moments this week was when we were teaching one of our friends and the branch president came with us(super cool dude) and while our friend was saying the opening prayer she pauses.. turns to the branch President and says "I forgot your name what's your name?" He quietly says "fransisco" and she quickly goes back into the prayer with "ah thank you God for fransisco." Hahah I was dying of laughter.
Also a cockroach flew into my companions hair while she was teaching about the Great Apostasy hahahahaha. I saw it slowly crawl on the top of her head and everyone in the room just went silent. She tried to be super chill about it and casually brushed it off but she accidentally just brushed it into her lap. So then she freaked out a little and flicked it off and the lady we were with smacked it with a shoe. Thank goodness I was wearing a mask because I couldn't keep myself from laughing it was so funny.
Anyway that's a couple of snippets. I don't know how to share more without making this email a novel. Haha.
Oh man I almost forgot! I rode a bike this week! It was so fun! I haven't crashed yet but I'm honestly looking forward to it because I think that's so funny hahah.  So stay tuned.

Let me know if you need anything or want to know more about Texas!
Love y'all
Hermana Eastman
(Or you can call me Hermana Easton because the Hispanic people cannot say my name so they just compromise with Easton haha)
(The pink mask pic is my reaction to the nasty massive bug)

Hello! I figured I would write to you together since that would be easier for me. I'm in Texas! I think I belong here. My hair is seriously and awesome frizzy curly mess and my hands are so soft! I might've already gotten a little sunburn (sorry mom) it feels like June here. I'm in Rosenburg Texas! It's a little southwest of Houston. My address is __________ Rosenburg, TX 77471. (Also you can send packages here because it's a house! So that'll be nice for the next 2 transfers while I'm here)
So much has happened this week I don't even know where to start. I've written so much kn my journal so at least I have a record of it all. Well my mission President is the best person ever! He's such a good man and a great example! And he signed your ball Dad! Super cool dude. I got to interview with him and I felt like I am in good hands. He and his wife are so kind and faithful. I've already told you but the Astros park was literally so cool! The diamond members club was awesome. And the director of the park is friends with President Guthrie (of course) and he said that if you guys pick me up he'll give you a legit tour of the whole park! So pretty sweet. Cool dude.
My companion is Hermana Tea! She's from pocatello Idaho. She's spent most of her mission in quarantine so we're learning something together. We serve in a branch here and share the branch with Spanish elders. They're super cool! We see them all the time so I'm grateful that they're fun.
Oh also we live in a barn Haha! It's awesome! I don't have any pictures but it's a literal barn in someone's backyard. It's super nice though. There are like 4 households who live on this property.
We teach English class which is super fun, but only two people come. The branch missionary and his wife. They're super cool. Apparently he's a beekeeper and they gave us some honey!
I'll share one highlight and one lowlight and then I'll send some pictures(the ugly ones that only VIPs get).
Highlight: two of the people we are teaching came to church! Woohoo! They are both great and each have their own needs and challenges.
Lowlight: we haven't had much success finding new people to teach. We can't knock on doors so we just walk around neighborhoods and pray for referrals.
Oh also, I don't have access to Facebook yet because there are some trainings I need to do but I should have it next week and then I can video chat over messenger. But I can still call you on the phone today.
Love you guys!
